• Gray, Maine • 04/12/15 • Over 600 Pigs Here's my story. In 1971, I started dating this cute guy in high school. In a very affectionate and romantic (for a teenager) way he started calling me "Pigface". Trust me, it was romantic!!! For some reason, the pig thing stuck. 44 years later, I'm still with the cute guy and I have amassed a huge pig collection. Short and sweet; that's my story!🐷 Barbara Alt
• Fort Wayne, IN • 04/22/15 • Over 3000 Pigs Cindy Brenneke took a trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana to pick up the incredible Pig Collection belonging to Barb Alt. Barb was fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer. Sadly, she was very ill when Brenneke arrived and she was not able to meet Barb in person. Her dear friend Brenda Rutowski helped load her "babies", which were then brought back to the farm, where it took about two months to get the new displays built and the piggies in place where the public could view them. Barb had planned to visit the Museum, unfortunately she was not able to make it due to her health. She passed from this earthly life to be with the Lord on August 9, 2015. We feel her presence here at the Museum, and blessed that we are able to share them with you. Paula and Clay Oliver
• Ft. Lauderdale, FL • 06/03/15 • Over 1000 Pigs Paula and Clay Oliver started collecting pigs in the early 80’s. Finding that first simple “oh isn’t that cute” pig ignited a passion that encompassed the entire family. Everyone wanted to collect the most unusual, one of kind pigs. All vacations that Paula and Clay took involved the purchase of a pig to remember the trip by. Friends and family enjoyed the hunt for pigs almost as much as Paula and Clay did. Pigs from all over the United States, as well overseas and the Bahamas joined their collection. When just a run of the mill store purchase wouldn’t do, they commissioned original art work of pigs – from carvings made out of stone or wood, to framed art work, to actually adopting a real pig – Marvin! As their collection grew, it spread out over their entire home, not leaving a room untouched by pigs. Paula and Clay lovingly displayed all the pigs and enjoyed the fond memories they invoked. When Paula passed away in June of 2011, additions to the collection ceased, but not the enjoyment they brought. The pigs remained in their places and Clay continued to enjoy looking at them and enjoyed reminiscing about them and the happy memories they held. When Clay passed in April of 2015, the family was at a loss as to what to do with the massive collection. It was created with so much love and care that the thought of the collection being dismantled and given away left them with a heavy heart. So the search began for a “home” for the pigs. When we found “Where Pigs Fly Farm & Pigs Aloft Museum”, we knew we had found that home! It is a great comfort to the family to know that Paula & Clay’s pig collection will continue to bring joy to so many people for many years to come and will be lovingly cared for almost as much as they did! • Wyoming • 11/25/16 • Over 1000 Pigs Cornelia Storer
• Keywest, FL • 12/1/16 • Over 300 Pigs Donated in loving memory by her family. She loved her pigs!! A Keywest Florida native and a lifetime resident of Miami. She married a farm boy from Missouri. She first became enchanted with pigs on a trip to Missouri with her husband to the family farm. There, she got to hold some new piglets and that's where it all began!! She collected pigs starting in the early seventies up until her death in 1996. It is our pleasure as her family to share most of her collection with you. If you would like to help us keep the museum maintained and help with the remodeling of the Livestock Barn and Milk Barn to accommodate more of the collection, we would greatly appreciate your donation. THANKS in Advance!
